I love the first movie, it was very funny and exciting. I couldn’t wait for the second one, when I was young, since Brett Ratner announce that there will be another one. When It came out, I kind of the first to bought the ticket, and the first to enter the cinema. Usually a sequel isn’t a good idea for any movies, but a lot had surpass that problem, such as Rambo, Star Wars, James Bonds Series… Let see if Rush Hour 2 make my list of good sequel movies. Additional cast include the beautiful Zhang Ziyi , and John Lone, all great Chinese cast.
Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) work again with Detective James Carter (Chris Tucker), they are working on
Inspector Lee and Det.James Carter meet again…
This movie is great, the action pace is still there and the clever comedies still there as well. It was a bit less funnier than the first one in my opinion, the first one gave me a big blast though, this one make me fell wonderful afterward. Jackie Chan still strong as usual, and Chris Tucker is still brilliantly funny. The action sequence in this movie is awesome, they were set in Hong Kong, it was the birthplace of brilliant fighting choreography so you k now this movie is going to be great. The intensity level of the movie is awesome, the story was OK, nothing really special, except we do get surprise a bit at the end, but I expected it. John Lone is still good as always, and Zhang Ziyi is brilliant. The movie live on to the first movie, and there were nothing bad to say about it, the same level of excitement is still there and it is still the best out there. The movie did get improve on cinematography, the camera techniques, the location, explosion, and other stuffs had improve, the fighting got a bit less intense, but it just because this generation movies are all about effects, huge explosion, or car chases. Also Don Cheadle also appear in this movie when he isn’t famous like today, nice appearance from him.
It’s vacation time for Det. James Carter (Chris Tucker) and he finds himself alongside Det. Lee (Jackie Chan) in Hong Kong wishing for more excitement. While Carter wants to party and meet the ladies, Lee is out to track down a Triad gang lord who may be responsible for killing two men at the American Embassy. Things get complicated as the pair stumble onto a counterfeiting plot by L.A. crime boss Steven Reign and Triad Ricky Tan, an ex-cop who played a mysterious part in the death of Det. Lee’s father. Throw in a power struggle between Tan and the gorgeous but dangerous Hu Li and the boys are soon up to their necks in fist fights and life-threatening situations. A trip back to the U.S. may provide the answers about the bombing, the counterfeiting, and the true allegiance of sexy customs agent Isabella. Then again, it may turn up more excitement than Carter was looking for during his vacation.
I love the movie so much, it would be hard to select the favorite scenes. The movie is so rich with excitement and intensity. The first thing i like is the misunderstanding between Carter and Lee, Lee thinks Carter is dead, but he is not, Lee drag on an emotional breakdown, not knowing that Carter is outside doing random stupid things. They encountered each other in a very odd situation, and it is so funny how unemotional they are, not because they cold at each other, but they are being attack, so they just need to wrap the conversation up fast and move on, it was so clever and fun to watch. The second thing I like in the movie is the truck trailer scene where Lee and Carter got caught and tied to each other, they breakout on each other and throw some very funny words at each other. Another scene that I like in the movie is the scene where they are stocking Isabella, and she is getting change, they both want to check her out, so they try to steal each other binoculars, but they calmly doing it, and it is so funny how ignorant they are. The last thing I love in the movie is the fighting scene between Hu Li and James, I was wondering, how can James win Hu Li, she is a martial artist, and he can’t even fight probably, he manage to win anyway.
MY RATE: 8/10
